The Spanish pride themselves on their cuisine, as each region has its delicacies and specialities, and Madrid is no exception. Eating out can be expensive, particularly in the touristy areas, but it is possible to get really

good food at a reasonable price. Try the tapas bars in La Latina or Tirso de Molina, or Cocido (the most traditional dish, consisting of a thick stew of meat and sausage). There are also lots of fantastic seafood restaurants, particularly if you are willing to spend a bit more. To drink, try some of the fine Spanish wines or a nice cold beer.
