Murcia is fairly well connected to the rest of Spain, with the N301 taking you south to Cartagena and north to Madrid and other major cities, and the A7 motorway taking you to

Andalucia and north to Alicante in about 1 hour.  There are two nearby airports: Aeropuerto de El Altet (Alicante) 68km away and Aeropuerto de San Javier
45 km. The central bus station has services to all major cities and, more importantly, all the local beaches which are about an hour's journey away. The local RENFE train station connects to all major cities but is slow and infrequent.
