Katowice has excellent connections with the rest of Poland and Europe. The train station is a major hub, and trains from all over the continent pass through there.  There is a small airport, but it is some way outside

the city and very small. The best international airport is Krakow, which is only 1.5 hrs drive away. By road, there are numerous motorways, though Polish roads generally aren't very good. Buses leave from the bus station to all major destinations and also most European countries (about 24 hours to get to London...). Within the city there is an excellent bus network and also lots of trams. Make sure you keep your ticket, or the inspectors will arrest you...
