Chinese and Indian restarants as well.  Despite its small size, it is possible to find food to suit most tastes. The pubs aren't much to write home about in the centre, but go a little out and you can find lots of fantastic traditional pubs serving real ale and cask beers. I recommend The Dolphin, and taking a short trip to Lewes you can go to the Snowdrop Inn which is really something!
